Your licence

Buying Negativo gets you a perpetual licence to use the version you bought, for personal use, for as long as you like. It does not expire, and it keeps working whether or not you ever buy another thing from us.

Install it on as many Macs as you personally use. There is no device limit and no activation server counting seats — the licence follows you, not a machine. What it does not cover is passing it on: the licence is non-transferable and may not be resold, sublicensed, rented or shared with another person or organisation.

Updates are free for one year from the date of purchase. After that the app carries on working exactly as it did; you simply stop receiving new versions unless you buy again. Nothing is disabled, and nothing phones home to check.

Trial, refunds and withdrawal

Negativo has a 30-day trial that is the complete application, with no feature held back and no account required. We would rather you found out it isn't for you before paying than after.

If you buy anyway and change your mind, you have 14 days from purchase to withdraw and get a full refund, under the EU right of withdrawal. Email support@negativo.app and say you are withdrawing. You do not have to explain why, and we will not ask you to sit through a retention script.

One caveat the law requires us to spell out: for digital content delivered immediately, the right of withdrawal ends once delivery has begun with your express consent and your acknowledgement that you are giving up that right. Because the trial already lets you evaluate the whole app before paying, we do not ask you to waive anything at checkout, and we honour the full 14 days.

What we promise, and what we don't

Negativo is sold as it is. We have taken care over it, and if it does not do what this website says it does, tell us — that is a defect and you are entitled to have it fixed or refunded under Spanish consumer law. Those statutory rights are not affected by anything on this page.

Beyond that, we cannot promise the app is free of every bug, that it will suit a particular workflow, or that it will run uninterrupted on every configuration of macOS and hardware in existence.

Negativo reads your files and writes .xmp sidecars alongside them. It is designed never to modify or move an original, and that is the single most important thing it does. Even so, it is not a backup tool and is not a substitute for one. Keep backups of your photographs, as you would with any software that touches them.

To the extent the law allows, our liability for any claim arising from the software is limited to what you paid for the licence. We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss — lost work, lost time, lost income. Nothing here limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be limited.

Governing law

These terms are governed by Spanish law, and the courts of Spain have jurisdiction. If you are a consumer resident elsewhere in the EU, this does not deprive you of the protection of the mandatory consumer law of the country you live in, nor of your right to bring proceedings there.

The European Commission runs an online dispute resolution platform for consumer disputes, available at ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr. We would much rather you emailed us first — it is faster, and it reaches the person who wrote the code.
